Bill’s areas of practice include Securities fraud; Commercial litigation, Patent and Trademark litigation; Product liability; Contracts; Business Formations, International Transactions, Joint Ventures , Mergers and Acquisitions, Appeals and
Appellate procedure, International Law, and Arbitration and Mediation. Bill’s niche practice is acting as a mobile general counsel for start-up businesses.
Bill has 40 years of legal experience. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, 1973, J.D., Magna Cum Laude, Order of the Coif, and Law Review. Bill practiced at Rider, Bennett, Egan & Arundel for five years as a litigator in areas of commercial disputes, environmental, products liability, and insurance defense. In 1978, he joined Honeywell’s legal department, where he was In-House Counsel for 17 years. Bill was Vice-President and Associate General Counsel, and for a five month period was acting General Counsel. He managed various legal functions including: Litigation; Corporate; Real Estate; Employment and Environmental law.
Bill then joined Simplex Time Recorder of Massachussetts in 1995 as Vice-President, General Counsel, and Secretary. He was responsible for all legal functions of the company and also managed the Health Safety and Environmental Department. In 1999, Bill became Vice-President, General Counsel, and Secretary of Jostens, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a publicly traded company, he was responsible for all securities filings with the SEC. In 2001, Bill pursued private practice in areas of litigation and business. He was also appointed as a neutral to the American Arbitration Association, where he has arbitrated cases of distributor termination, IT contracts, and investment fraud.
